I Need Your Gift Ideas!

I need some ideas.  I have a few baby showers coming up and I need some ideas for hostess gifts.  When I was pregnant with Garrett, I think my hostess gifts were things from Bath and Body Works, though I'm having a hard time remembering exactly.  I know I can always go that route and most women like and appreciate things from there.  But I thought I would pick your brains and see if you all had any cute ideas.  My first shower is this Sunday and I realize that I might not have a gift to give that hostess on the day of the shower.  I know she'll understand and won't care, and probably isn't expecting anything anyway, but if I can find something between now and then, I would like to do so.  So if you have any cute (relatively inexpensive) ideas, then I would love to hear them!

On a side note, I just have to confess that it was a little awkward for me to register this go around.  In fact, I wasn't planning on doing so, except for the incessant insistence by Keith's coworker who is throwing us a shower at his work.  With Garrett, we had nothing, so it was easy to register for all things baby.  We were beyond blessed with the baby showers we had with him.  But there were a few things we borrowed from my sister and Keith's sister after Garrett was born.  As it turns out, both of them have new babies right now and are using all of their baby items, so I did register for the things we borrowed from them last time, along with a few things that needed to be replaced.  But it was still awkward for me.  Maybe I wouldn't feel this way if I was having a girl.

I think I understand how you are feeling registering this time around. I kind of feel weird registering because I feel like I just had a bunch of showers...but they were wedding showers. It still feels weird to be registering again and having people buy things for me. I'm sure when the second child comes along it's a similar feeling. But hey, if Keith's work is insisting on throwing you a shower, I would definitely take advantage of that to get the things you really need/want! :)

I'm glad I haven't had any fainting spells like yours at the doctor's office. That's how I passed out at the plasma center though. I was up at the desk collecting my money and I fell straight backwards (flat as a board I was told) and just completely passed out for quite a while (the EMT's were already there with the ambulance by the time I came to). I'm definitely ready to feel normal again.

I'll be coming up or over I guess, when you have Cooper. It will REALLY make me ready to have Brooklyn. I'm going to have baby envy!! lol. My mom said her and grandma were going to be going over there and I'm sure my dad will go as well so I figure I'm going to hitch a ride since I don't cherish the thought of driving long distances by myself that close to my due date. I can't wait to see your little guy. I'll probably get all the stuff Grace is sending me at that time as well. Hopefully we will also be moving into my dad's rent house over here. We're just waiting for the current resident to find a new place to live and then we get to move into it as soon as he's out. It will be great living in a house and not an apartment!

I'll be doing a post on my work shower soon, hopefully. I'm waiting till my co-worker posts the pictures so I can post them on my blog. I was brain dead that day and forgot my camera. It went well. It was small and cozy. There were about 6 other women not including my mom and my mother in law. I think Sabrina (my co-worker who put it together) was a little disappointed at the turnout, but it really was about what I expected and she did an awesome job at decorating and coming up with a really cute game and getting me an AMAZING cake. I really enjoyed it and I got lots of diapers and lotions and powders which I know I need a lot of so I was very happy with how it turned out.

Now, I just need to write the thank you notes!

I think gift cards are great. Most people like them and you can go wrong with a gift card
