So here's what I have off the top of my head for both. You contribute what you can. If you don't have a recipe, but you know of a meal that uses one or the other and you love it, just let me know. I'll look online for the recipe. I'm just needing a jumping off point with this.
Steak:
grilled steak (hah)
steak fajitas
steak quesadillas (can you tell I live in Texas and eat Tex Mex?)
??? I don't know what else to do with the steak
Hamburger:
grilled hamburgers (double hah)
spaghetti
tacos
??? I'm drawing a blank now, so apparently I don't have more ideas for the hamburger than I do for the steak.
And for those wondering why we have such an abundance of these, we have had those meat guys come to our neighborhood selling meat at a deep discount and also throwing some in for free when we buy from them. We've only done this twice and didn't get a large amount, but there's more than enough steak and hamburger in our freezer to get us by the next few weeks/months.
So now I turn to you for your meal and recipe ideas.

Hi!
I thought about you this weekend while I was down in Texas. :)
This was a good idea- Will and I too are feeling the economy pains and are in need of more creative food ideas. We don't do too much with steak, but we tend to do hamburger stuff often. (tacos, hamburgers... everything you said!). I make a taco ring sometimes which is half a pound of beef and half a packet of taco seasoning mix- basically like you're making tacos. Then I use the big crescent rolls and roll them out so that when folded they'll create a "ring" with a hole in the middle. I put the beef in the large portion of the crescent and top with cheese. I fold over and bake according to the crescent roll directions and serve with sour cream, tomatoes, etc. It's really good and pretty cheap too!
Pick me,pick me!! lol
I have a couple of ideas
For the steak, have you tried skewers? You could marinate the steak and then cut it up and make kebabs out of them with your fav ingredients. I personally love onion, peppers and pineapple.
For the hamburger I have this dish that I loooove that I don't really have a "recipe" for ;O) A friend told me how she makes this.
Make macaroni and cheese like you would normally.
Brown hamburger( a normal sized package of it)
Mix mac n cheese and hamburger in a baking dish. Then add half to a whole container of sour cream. If you like tomatoes and onion you can add that too.(Rotel or hand chopped or whatever)
Mix in some shredded cheddar and add some on top
Bake at 350 until warm and bubbly.
I LOVE how this tastes. In fact, it's making me hungry!
Good luck!
We like beef and broccoli with steak. Try Recipezaar.com and search by ingredient for ground beef and steak. This will give you hundreds of ideas! It's my favorite web site.
